Our Story

Let me begin by saying that Our Story has changed since this was first written. In June of 2022, my beloved and talented husband died suddenly. With the Lord’s guidance, courage and strength, I am continuing this ministry. I have no clear idea of where God is leading me, but I know He has told me that He is creating “a new way” so I am trying to simply trust and obey. Prayers appreciated.

Marion and I were both raised in Christian homes and we both found our life's work in teaching theatre. It has been our passion since we were high schoolers. We were married in 1991 while living in Abilene, Texas. Marion was a professor of theatre at McMurry University and I was the theatre director at Abilene High School. For the past 21 years, Marion had been a Graduate Professor in theatre at Baylor University in Waco, and he retired on June 1. I am a retired administrator from Waco ISD. I have spent time teaching as an adjunct in  graduate education  for Concordia University. Both of us have been active members of the Texas Theatre Adjudicators and Officials Organization. Both of us enjoyed working with high school students and their directors every spring when we adjudicated various and numerous UIL OAP contests.

We attended First Baptist Church in Waco. We spent several years teaching in a multi-generational Sunday School class.  Marion was an ordained minister of the gospel. We loved the community and the outreach of our church. We met with another couple weekly to have Bible study and prayer. We enjoyed learning more and more about our Lord and drawing closer and closer to him. Over the last five years (missed opportunities during the Pandemic) we have presented No Panic in Heaven in many venues from churches to retirement villages and even private homes. Our goal was to stay in the safest place we can be, "The center of His will...", precious words from Corrie Ten Boom's sister, Betsie. MTC is an outgrowth of our seeking the truth, love and peace of Jesus. And my hope is to carry on for both of us.

Update (January 16, 2025): I have published a book, God’s New Way: The Road to Understanding, examining my grief journey. I have continued to perform No Panic in Heaven: A Conversation with Corrie Ten Boom, and I am writing now. I am in the process of creating a book of women’s monologues based on characters from the Bible. I am also in the interviewing and qualifying process for volunteering with a national charity as a Bible study teacher. God has, in fact, created a “new way”, and I am amazed at the opportunities He is providing for me.

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully admininstering God's grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen"
